THE OPEN PARTY 2006
July 2006 saw the inaugural Open Party which is set to become the hot ticket at the annual Open Golf Championships. The launch party at Hoylake, Liverpool took place on one of the hottest nights of the year on board the Royal Daffodil, a Mersey ferry which offered welcome river breezes from the heat of the evening.
Some 250 golf industry guests including media organisations, equipment and clothing manufacturers and travel and tourism representatives mingled above and below decks and danced the night away to the beat Beat Beatles tribute band.
Plans are already advanced for the Open Party 2007 which this year will move to Carnoustie in Scotland. Details are under wraps but sponsors have already been secured and the whole event will offer lots of extras and special attractions. Watch this space.
